Please read carefully. By creating an account or joining a game on Huddl, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Huddl ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and participants.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or 13 with verified parental consent) to use Huddl.

3. Assumption of Risk

Participation in pickup sports involves inherent physical risks, including injury, permanent disability, or death. By joining any game through Huddl you acknowledge these risks and assume full responsibility for your participation. Huddl is a scheduling platform only — we do not organize, supervise, or insure any game.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you hereby release Huddl, its owners, operators, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, injuries, or losses arising from your use of the platform or participation in any game found through it.

5. Code of Conduct

You agree that you will not:

Make derogatory or harassing comments based on race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Engage in physical or verbal abuse of any participant or spectator.
Appear at a game under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
Use another person's identity to register for or join a game.
Damage facilities or equipment.
Post content that is illegal, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

Violations may result in removal from a game, suspension, or permanent account termination without refund.

6. User-Generated Content

You are solely responsible for any content you post. By posting content you grant Huddl a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use and display it in connection with the Service.

7. Game Listings & Cancellations

Huddl does not guarantee any listed game will take place. Organisers may cancel at any time. Huddl is not liable for costs you incur due to cancellations.

8. SMS Notifications

By providing your phone number you consent to transactional SMS messages. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.

9. Intellectual Property

All Huddl branding and code is owned by or licensed to Huddl. You may not copy or distribute it without permission.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Huddl from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Huddl's total liability shall not exceed the greater of $100 or amounts you paid to Huddl in the prior 12 months.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify you via in-app notice or email for material changes.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Huddl operates.

Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect only what we need to run the platform. We don't sell your data. You can request deletion at any time.

1. What We Collect

Account data – username, email, and optionally phone number.

Profile data – sport preferences, skill level, bio.

Game data – games you create or join, including location and sport type.

Location data – coarse location to show nearby games. We do not persistently store precise GPS coordinates unless you create a game with a specific address.

Usage data – pages visited, device type, IP address, and crash logs.

2. How We Use Your Data

Show you nearby games and enable you to create or join them.
Send transactional notifications (confirmations, updates, cancellations).
Maintain and improve the platform.
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to serve third-party ads.

3. How We Share Your Data

Service providers – hosting, SMS/email delivery, analytics under strict confidentiality.
Other users – your username and sport preferences are visible on games you join or create.
Legal authorities – when required by law or to protect user safety.
Successor entities – in the event of a merger or acquisition, with prior notice.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use session cookies for authentication and minimal analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time. Anonymised usage data may be retained for up to 24 months.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted storage, and access controls. No system is 100% secure — use a strong password and report any suspected breach to us.

7. Your Rights

Access or correct your data (via account settings).
Request account and data deletion.
Opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email).
Opt out of SMS (reply STOP).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
